Community Events

We are very proud to be part of an amazing community such as New Glasgow. Whether its during a power outage (such as Hurricane ) and neighbors including the fire hall offering up a place to clean up or just a typical day when you just need to borrow a cup of sugar ( or an entire box of sugar packets). Our community makes us who we are and we are proud to be able to give back. This week is our last week of the season serving lobster BUT the activity at the hall doesn’t end on Saturday!

We celebrate our staff on Sunday evening with our annual staff party! So if you see cars in the parking lot, don’t get excited it’s a private function for just us. We eat, drink, laugh and say good bye for another year.

Monday October 14th is another story – The New Glasgow Christian Church is holding their annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Supper.  From 4:00-7:30 pm  Tickets are Adults $15, Children 12 and Under $6 and are available at the door. For more information call Gayle at 902-964-2871 or Edith at 902-368-1262. All proceeds used to help individuals or families in our community who find themselves in need in the coming year.

Then on Friday October 25th it’s Gulf Shore Band’s Spooktacular Spaghetti Supper fundraiser! This it’s their 8th year!!! A fun, family themed “non-scary” night out to celebrate the Halloween season – wear your costumes if you dare! Doors open at 5pm and close at 8pm . Tickets sell out fast so get yours in advance to avoid disappointment! Adults – $12.00 Children (12 and under) $8.00
Includes your spaghetti, sauce, meatballs, Caesar salad, garlic bread, dessert and drink served to you by a Gulf Shore Band student in their costume and a family friendly carnival too! For tickets, please contact a Gulf Shore Band student or email ktmaclaine@edu.pe.ca.

Then on Saturday October 26th it’s The New Glasgow Women’s Institute Annual Meet Your Neighbor Night. All New Glasgow and surrounding community residents as well as local business owners are welcome to attend. Beginning at 6pm bring your favorite family dish for a community potluck supper. Following supper there will be games for all ages as well as their famous cake auction so don’t forget to bring you wallet!

And that’s it! Another season in the books and a great few community events to wrap it up with. Hope to see you all out and about this month – whether it’s for lobster, turkey, spaghetti or your favorite pot luck dish. 🙂
