Do you like the rain? Me I love it but in moderation… I especially love when it’s a gorgeous sunny hot day and then all of a sudden the skies open up and whoosh – downpour. Your senses go into overdrive! You get the fresh earthy smell, everything looks so green and healthy and if your lucky you might just get to see a rainbow. This time of year, we need rain – again in moderation. Rain helps the farmers or rather their crops but again there is that fine line between too much and too little. You want enough to make things grow but not too much that you can’t even plant your crops! Last year we had such a wet and miserable June and for the most part July too – not a great growing season for anyone OR a great start to the tourist season.
Here’s hoping that all the rain the farmers need comes in moderation and the sun shines brightly across the Island encouraging travellers to come visit the Island and also gets us Islanders out of the house to take in the sights and sounds that our beautiful Island has to offer! Best of luck in your 2012 season to all Farmers, Fisherman and Tourism Operators !
