Spooktacular Spaghetti Supper!

Well, even though we are closed for the season and we have no more lobsters to serve there is still excitement happening at the hall next week! We have joined forces with the members of Gulf Shore Consolidated Band and their parents to create a new fundraiser. In the past they have had a Traditional Haunted Woods in St. Anne’s. As this was a very weather dependent & sometimes too scary for all ages this year they have created a yummy alternative.

On Friday October 26th the Band students from Gulf Shore Consolidated are holding their first ever Spooktacular Spaghetti Supper fundraiser! Your Halloween themed dinner includes; Spaghetti and meatballs, Caesar salad, Garlic Bread, Dessert and Beverage and will be served to you by the Grade 9 members of the Band wearing their best Halloween costumes. In our lower dining room, the younger members of the Band will have Halloween fun and games set up for the whole family to enjoy. So why not make a night of it and come down to New Glasgow for an evening of delicious food and fun? And feel free to wear your costume too!

Doors open at 5pm Tickets are $10 for Adults, $5 for kids (12 and under) in advance or $12 and $5 at the door. Band members will be selling tickets or you can reserve them by emailing ktmaclaine@edu.pe.ca

The 2012 Bridal and Special Occasion Trade Show, presented by The Wedding Place at the Charlottetown Civic Centre – yes that is how I am spending my Sunday afternoon. No I’m not getting married ( one husband is enough for me!)

Many people have enjoyed a dinner with us at one point or another. Perhaps a special gathering for a birthday, a family member visiting the Island or just a night out with your friends. Whatever the occasion- we’re here to serve you!

We are a fully equipped facility that can cater to a wide range of groups. If it’s a private function you are looking to host, perhaps you would like to take a look at our lower level Glasgow room which includes private entrance, bar and bathroom facilities. We offer not only a sit down dinner but also a reception style buffet with an endless amount of options to tempt your taste buds. If you are looking to enjoy a traditional lobster dinner served the Island way perhaps you would like to dine in our Clyde room surrounded by other excited food connoisseurs like yourself.

If you choose to visit us this Wednesday (September 12th) You may notice that our staff may be alittle under dressed than usual. This is because Wednesday is Miracle Jeans day for The Children’s Miracle Network! Our employees will be wearing jeans that day in support of The IWK. All employees wishing to participate will be donating a minimum of $5 and will be given a sticker to show their support. If you’d like to show your support and donate with us – we will have a donation jar available for you to do so. All money raised will be donated to The IWK. These donations help fund research, purchase much needed new equipment and most of all help those children who need it the most.

2012 Fall Flavours Event

Come join us for our Original Lobster Supper Dinner and Dance on Wednesday September 26th! Step back in time and enjoy our lobster dinner the way it began in 1958. Our first lobster dinner was served as a fundraiser for the New Glasgow and District Junior Farmers Organization. The building had no kitchen and no on site wash room facilities. All the food was prepared elsewhere and brought on site. The first customers had to wait in their car as temporary steps were constructed for them to enter the building. Inside, the bare studs of the walls were showing, the tables were plywood doors which were laid flat on saw horses and the seats were long benches. Along with this country atmosphere was the simplicity of the meal, a cold lobster, homemade rolls and potato salad as well as fresh desserts; served by the Junior Farmers. The meal was followed by a dance. Sounds like a wonderful evening at a reasonable price of $1.50 per person with all $260 dollars raised going to the Junior Farmers Group. We’ve come along way in 54 years – we now provide indoor plumbing ! And no tables of plywood or bare studs showing. But plenty of things haven’t changed. We have always strived to provide the freshest product available and the highest level of Island hospitality.We pride ourselves in giving back to the community and this event is no different. A portion of all ticket sales will go to the local 4H Club.

32nd Annual New Glasgow Terry Fox Run

When you think of cancer research, the first name that pops into your head is probably Terry Fox. His Marathon of hope which he began in 1980 has continued to grow and has raised millions of dollars for cancer research. Now in it’s 32nd year we are honoured to have been involved with Terry’s vision since it’s conception.

On Sunday, September 16th join us in our 32nd year. Walk, Run, Bike or take the kids in the stroller on our 10km circle around the Community of New Glasgow. Registration and collection begins at 10am and all participants are invited to enjoy a free corn boil lunch following the run.
