New Glasgow Lobster Suppers
I look forward to Mother’s Day every year, not only because it is a special day for Mother’s, including myself, but it also means the long wait for a beautiful lobster supper is over. Eight months is a long time to wait for this glorious feast, as I am one of the last to savour this delicious meal in September, only to count the months down in winter until May ! Springtime in PEI is refreshing with the many pretty colours of the first flowers of spring, and sitting down to this tasty supper tops it off !
When I was younger, my parents would bring my sister and I for a 12 hour drive from Quebec to visit my Grand Parents here in PEI; we used to go to New Glasgow Lobster Suppers everytime we came to visit them. The last time I ate here was 6 years ago when I was 14. Luckily for me; I’ll be spending my honeymoon here in PEI and my fiancee and I will definately be coming to eat some lobster at my favorite restaurant!
I’m descended from the PEI Gouldrup family. A visit to the New Glasgow Lobster is a must when visiting PEI.

We visited PEI in August and decided to have supper at New Glasgow Lobster Suppers. We had the most wonderful meal–thoroughly enjoyed it. The lobster was fantastic, as were the mussels. We’re still talking about the lemon meringue pie–so good. Thanks very much!
In July I will be visiting PEI for the 4th time. I will make sure to enjoy a New Glasgow Lobster supper this trip.
We were disappointed. Our first visit (2010) there was exellent. Our second visit (July 21 2013) was very bad. My 2 pound lobster tasted like the pot had burned dry (or they left the elastics on the lobster and reused the water) and had a sharp acrid off taste. My other lobster along with my wife’s were overcooked and rubbery. The place was packed and there was a bus tour beside us. The place was nuts! Bottom line….they didn’t come through. We mentionned the lobster to the waitress and she said with a smile that we should have said something earlier and yes we should have. The first batch of mussels were overcooked and the second batch had some semi-raw mussels. The chowder and salad were very good. Maybe the tour bus was late and their product had to sit for a while… I don’t know… You’re only as good as your last meal. Our money will be going elsewhere.
Not that good. Very disappointing. One of my lobsters tasted burned and was overcooked and the better one was simply overcooked. My wife’s was overcooked also. I have have never seen a lobster crumble before. The people behind us were not too impressed with their meal either. The place on July 21,2013 was nuts and had a bus tour. Our first visit in 2010 was exellent but was during the week instead. .To their credit; my 10 year old found their chicken nuggets to be exellent. You are only as good as your last meal in this industry and we probably will not be back at your eating establishment unless we can be assured that care and attention may be put into your food preparation and that your once high standards are once again achieved. The mussels were overcooked and the second batch were semi-raw. Your chowder wa exellent and the cold plate was also. The best or worst advertising is by word of mouth. Kind regards ;BH
Hi Mr. Hillier,
First off let me apologize for the tardiness to this reply. Our reply in no way was delayed due to the displeasure of your visit. We are in our busiest days and unfortunately emails are not noticed as quickly. No excuses as even during our busiest days we have an obligation to our patrons to ensure they enjoy not only their meal but their visit with us.
We have be grateful to have been serving Islanders and visitors for 55 years and it is our customers who provide us with the most candid feedback to ensure we are still exceeding their expectations.
We are not perfect unfortunately and your experience demonstrated this to us on that day. I apologize for both your meal not meeting your minimum satisfaction and also for not exceeding your expectations as we did back in 2010. You are correct we are only as good as our last meal and I assure we looked into the matter of the your Lobster tasting burnt and overcooked. Your feedback is helping us to coach and improve our training of our Lobster Cookers.
I will be sending you an email to inquire about some other details and would appreciate your candid feedback again.
Sincere Apologies and again thank you for your feedback and we will strive to win back your loyalty with us.

Thank you Mr. Forrest
for looking into this matter and we look forward to eating in your establishment. Bud H and family.
This was the worst experience we have ever had in dinning on our fair isle. the meal cost us 100 dollars which is fair price for what is offered in the menu selections. we were told to go down to the lower level it was open upon getting down stairs we were meet by a woman that didn’t know if they were open yet or not so we decided to go up stairs we were seated in front of the air conditinor that was blowing very cold air on us we moved over one table oops wrong way as we were so boldly told to move back in the other direction when our server arrived she dumped water all over the table while filling our glasses, she explained the process and what was on the menu she took our order (not asking if we wanted drinks) our soup was tasteless then we have to ask if there was any thing to drink besides water finally we got our drinks after our first two courses.the potato wasn’t fully cooked and the meat had no flavour a tall in closing we ate at your restaurant twice our first and last time all at once in closing i hope you improve on customer service and the quaility or your food
I am so very sorry that we did not meet your expectations and that you did not enjoy your meal with us. We appreciate your feedback and without our customers comments we cannot better ourselves or teach our employees what they need to improve upon.
I have sent you an email in hopes that you could provide additional information regarding your visit so I can look further look into your concerns.
You have my sincerest apologies and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
