Lobster roll anyone?

It’s been a busy September so far here on the Island. Fall Flavours is in full force, and The PEI Shellfish Fesitval was over the weekend. Lots of wonderful events and wonderful food to enjoy for Islanders and CFA’s ( in Island lingo CFA means  a Come From Awayer). So Thank you to all the organizers and those who chose to take part – so much work goes into these events and it is sooo worth every last bit.  But I wanted to give a special shout out to The PEI Fisherman’s Association, Charlottetown chef Ross Munro, Food Network Canada chef Lynn Crawford and...

A Taste of New Glasgow

Posted by on Wednesday September 2nd, 2015 in Blog

It’s official, it’s September. I know it’s a bit upsetting. Although we may be sad to see August go, September is one of the best times of year here on Prince Edward Island. The weather is beautiful, and better yet it’s Fall Flavours time! What is Fall Flavours you may ask?  From September 4th to October 4th it is what turns PEI into a culinary mecca of events.  Take time to travel around the Island to tickle your taste buds with incredible food,  entertaining hosts and one of a kind experiences. AND this year New Glasgow is featured as a signiture event with none...

The bare studs of the walls were showing, the tables were plywood doors which were laid flat on saw horses and the seats were long benches. AND there were NO bathrooms and NO kitchen!  My grandfather still remembers the first...

Spring showers bring social outings!

Although  we are still buried in mountains of snow, (much like the rest of the Island) there are still signs of spring to remind us that soon the sounds of summer will be here.  One of those signs is the Annual New Glasgow Women’s Insititute Coffee with a Flair. For as long as I can remember we have been opening our “summer home”  to house this wonderful event. The NGWI holds this annual fundraiser to raise monies for not only charities such as the QEH & Anderson’s House but also share those funds with families in the area who have come upon hard times. The...

Employment Opportunities for 2015!

It’s that time of year again, when you start thinking about how you are spend your summer. More like you are currently day dreaming of the sun and beach instead of looking outside at the huge snow drift in your driveway. But if you are thinking about how your are going to spend your time away from the beach, we just might be the place for you. We are lucky enough to have many returning staff year to year but we are always looking for a few employees to become part of the New Glasgow family. Do you think you have what it takes? Our business is not your typical run of the mill restaurant....
