Something new is happening.. and it smells wonderful!

Something new and exciting is happening in the kitchen here in New Glasgow.  A new smell in the air.The smell of charbroiled steak that is quite intoxicating. Mix that with the ever divine aroma of fresh lobster and believe me – if heaven had a smell, THIS is what it would be like. This season we are introducing an Island 8oz Strip Loin Steak to our menu! AND we are so excited about it,  that we are going even further and offering you the chance to enjoy A Surf and Turf Platter! Now, close your eyes and  let your taste buds imagine...

#meals4medals #freedinner for Sochi Olympic Canadian medalists

Opening day is fast approaching so I thought I would send out a reminder for all our Canadian Olympians. A couple of months ago while we were all glued to our television set watching #Sochi2014 and afraid to step outside into the #polervortex. We decided that we wanted to honor the Canadian athletes who fought their way to the podium. And how better to show a Canadian a good time then treat them to a home cooked meal and some Island hospitality?! So consider this your official invitation to come dine with us –  ON US.  Wear or show...

Come to The Island, Stay for the party! #PEI2014

You may have heard but in case you’ve been living under a rock, 2014 on Prince Edward Island is going to be awesome! This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference where our Nations Founding Fathers decided to form this glorious Country. Anytime is a good time to visit the Island, but this year I think we have out done ourselves. There are over 150 festivals, events and fun filled activities happening all across the Island! Why wouldn’t you want to come take advantage? Honestly you’d be crazy not to....

Lobster Love for Olympians #mealsformedals

As with many of you, I have been glued to the television watching Canada represent at The Sochi 2014 Olympics.  Cheering with each successful run, program or game and feeling the pain of disappointment when things don’t go as planned. The strength and determination that our athletes have, overcoming injury, sickness, intimidating competition not to mention nerves. This  simply amazes me time and time again. There are so many things that make me  proud to be a Canadian and watching our athletes own the podium is just one of them.  But...

The Community of New Glasgow has Christmas Spirit

New Glasgow may be a bit quieter this time of year but our village is still a charming place to visit. It’s a photographer’s winter wonderland  and a walk through the village will lift your spirits as you raise your hand to wave to many a friend as they drive by. Just this past weekend we kicked off the holiday season with The Community of New Glasgow’s Annual Candle light walk and Tree lighting. It could not have been a more perfect night. A fresh dusting of snow, made our candles shine brighter and our voices sing...

Christmas shopping list

Unless you are one of those shoppers from legend (you know the ones who have their shopping done by July) you  probably have just recently sat down and made a list of who you are shopping for. Many people including myself are watching how much they spend this Christmas season. One way our family has cut down on spending is to draw names.  We decide on a maximum amount of money to spend and we’re off. My next challenge is getting the most bang for my buck. And if your family is anything like mine… they already have too much stuff...

2nd Annual Spooktacular Spaghetti Supper

Although the smells of delicious lobster and rolls is done for another year, there will be some mouth watering smells coming from our kitchens next week. For the 2nd year in a row we have joined forces with the members of Gulf Shore Consolidated Band and their parents to hold this fantastic fundraiser. In the past they hosted a Traditional Haunted Woods in St. Anne’s. As this was a very weather dependent & sometimes too scary for all ages, the decision was made to create a yummy alternative. And so The Spooktacular Spaghetti Supper was...

Customer Appreciation Days

With September now over, the count down until closing day is upon us. Occasionally I am asked how it works when someone...

Anyone need a drink?

Anyone need a drink?

As an Island business you try to support other local island businesses, from food to supplies and even alcohol. In recent years we’ve been lucky to have Prince Edward Island products on our Bar Menu including  PEI’s own Rossignal Wines from White Sands. Last year we added Beach Chair Lager from The PEI Brewing Co. and 2 wines from Newman Estate Winery in Murray River. This year we are pleased to be able to add Matos Winery to our menu.  The Matos Chardonney and The Matos Gamay-Noir will be added to our house wine – making...
