National Lemon Meringue Pie Day!

Posted by on Saturday August 18th, 2012 in Blog

First of all I wanted to apologise since I actually missed National Lemon Meringue Pie day by a few. It was actually August 15th. But I figured you would all understand since this is “the busy season!”

If you have never enjoyed a piece of our Lemon Pie – you are missing out on a piece of heaven. Our Queen of Pies Joan with her side kick Tara make all of our pies each and every day. Joan has been making pies here in New Glasgow since 1976 and has perfected the recipe for our MILE HIGH Lemon Meringue Pie. Many a person has sat and enjoyed a slice of this delicious dessert and a few brave souls indulge in a second serving.

It is not for the faint of heart. Our slices are generous and so is the meringue – if you dare to take on the Mile High challange, be warned we set the meringue bar pretty high( even when compared to your grandmother’s!)

It is easy to say that our Lemon Meringue Pie is our most popular dessert and sometimes it’s so popular that we do run out. We wish we could have enough for everyone – everyday. So to be on the safe side arrive early as to not be disappointed!

  1. We try to go to New Glasgow Lobster Suppers every year. We were there Aug. 15 to celebrate my husbands birthday. I have had the Lemon pie and it is really good but they also make raisin pie just like my mother’s so I had it. New Glasgow Lobster Suppers is the best place to have a lobster supper.
