Newman Estate Winery

It’s always a nice feeling when you can support a local entrepreneur in achieving his dreams. It gives such a feeling a warmth – oddly enough so does this entrepreneurs wine! We had the great pleasure of meeting Mike Newman of Newman Estate Winery a couple of weeks ago when he visited us with a few samples of his “NEWest” wines. After meeting and sampling his fine product, how could we resist not carrying his product?!

Newman Estate Winery is PEI newest Winery. Located just outside Murray River in the Eastern part of the Island. What started as a hobby for Mike Newman soon turned into a dream. The 30 year old moved back from Ontario and started his vineyard, planting 6,300 vines himself. He bottled his first wine only in 2011, but is an ambitious and hardworking young man who is commited to his goal of producing a  good quality Island wine, that Islanders and visitors alike will enjoy.

Currently, Newman produces a NEW Blueberry wine and also a NEW white  (Chardonnay/Seyval Blanc blend) and a NEW red (Cabernet Sauvignon/Lucie Kuhlmann blend), both of which we are proud to be carrying on our wine list.

Drop by and enjoy a taste of the Island today!

Newman Estate Winery is located at 2404 Gladstone Rd. Murray River and  is open to the public Monday to Saturday from 11-5pm. Click here for an interview that Mike had with CBC Compass last fall.
